Testing was made with natural flaw distribution. Fatigue mode was sinusoidal fully reversed bending tension-compression with R=-1. THE ACTIVATED CARBON FIBER FABRIC USED WAS VISAC. THE SUITS WERE TESTED FOR CHEMICAL PROTECTION AS WELL AS CLOTHING COMFORT AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES. This information is provided for reference purposes only.Low cycle fatigue behavior of Y2O3 strengthened MA 760 nickel superalloy has been investigated from 650-950 C for different specimen orientations. Results show that fatigue failure occurred without any noticeable decrease in the cyclic strength of the alloy. Most of the failure surface exhibit a brittle appearance. Oxidation induced secondary cracking along grain boundaries was also evident.

Shrinkage behavior of the uniaxially pressed composites was followed by an optical dilatometer. This information is provided for reference purposes only.Diffusion barrier coatings of TiC and TiN were deposited between Co- Ni-Cr-Al-Y-Ta and MA6000 and Fe-Cr-Al-Y and Incoloy 800 by reactive sputtering and chemical vapor deposition. After diffusion annealing in argon at 1000 to 1100 C for from 50 to 100 hours, sputtered TiN coatings proved the most effective diffusion barrier between the superalloys and the MCrAlY layers.

The laboratory scale experiments varied the sulfur dioxide in the oxidizing atmosphere from 0 to 3000 ppm and used the impact angles of 60 and 90 degrees.
