An approach to the detection of malicious software by detecting its ability to self-replicate is proposed, implemented and tested. The approach is justified by the following realities most malicious programs propagate themselves through the Internet to maximize the impact of the information attack; self-replication of legitimate programs is quite uncommon; number of practical self-replication techniques is quite limited and is to be repeatedly used by new malicious codes. A Source ...
This is the final report to AFOSR and AFRL/IFEC for the project Qualitative Detection of Independently Moving Targets in MPEG Video within the Compressed Domain. This project focuses on developing theory and techniques for large scale surveillance video data summarization and unsupervised segmentation of video streams regarding whether there is a presence of independent motion in the streams. We propose a holistic, in-compression approach to efficient video prostanding. By efficient, ...
This is the final report for study of laser beam position control using an Acousto-Optic cell. The effort was performed under a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRDA) between the State of New York University in Binghamton and the Air Force Research Laboratory. The study consisted of five parts: Theoretical analysis, experimental analysis of the system components, cell design considerations, comparison with the behavior of a system based on Piezo-Electric ...
