THE VARIABLE CORROSION RESISTANCE OF 18CR-8NI STAINLESS STEELS: I. BEHAVIOR OF COMMERCIAL ALLOYS. MAR 1968
Authors:  Byron E. Wilde; Norbert D. Greene; STANFORD UNIV CALIF DEPT OF GENETICS
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only. The electrochemical and corrosion characteristics of Types 303, 304 and 316 stainless steel in 1N H2SO4 were determined using precision potentiostatic polarization and conventional coupon exposure/weight change techniques. Factors increasing the magnitude of the critical anodic current density, Ic, are shown to have a deleterious effect on the passivating tendencies of Type 304 alloys. Statistical analysis of the electrochemical properties of Type 304 alloy has shown that Ic is related ...

BIOLOGICAL APPLICATIONS OF MASS SPECTROMETRY. 01 AUG 1965
Authors:  J. Lederberg; E. Levinthal; STANFORD UNIV CALIF DEPT OF GENETICS
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.A review is presented of an investigation on the applications of the mass spectrometer to biological research. The mass spectra of the amino acids is examined as well as the spontaneous cyclization of oligopeptides, the optical activity of amino acids, logarithmic recording of the mass spectral data, computer methods and other techniques of analysis, and the heavy particle bombardment of biochemical materials. Included is an article on the optical resolution ...
