This report results from a contract tasking Induced Gamma Emission Foundation as follows: The contractor will investigate the production and accumulation of the nuclear isomer 178m2 Hafnium by spallation of hafnium targets with high-energy protons. The Hafnium yield will be assayed and compared to predictions. The program will use Hf targets for the optimization of the 178m2Hf yield and for the minimization of the running cost related to the simplicity ...
This report results from a contract tasking Induced Gamma Emission Foundation as follows: The contractor will investigate the production and accumulation of the nuclear isomer 178m2 Hafnium by spallation of Tungsten targets with high-energy protons. Targets made of the isotope 186 Tungsten will be designed using the LAHET computer code, and fabricated for experimental verification. The Hafnium yield will be assayed and compared to LAHET calculations.
This report results from a contract tasking Induced Gamma Emission Foundation as follows: The contractor will investigate the production of 178m2Hf atoms by means of spallation with high energy protons. The process will be optimized for different targets such as Re or W to get the best isomer-to-ground state ratio and purity of the samples while maximizing the absolute quantity of produced isomeric material.
This report results from a contract tasking Romanian Center for Induced Gamma Emission as follows: The contractor will establish the exact position of the gateway state(s) above the 31 year lifetime, high-K isomeric state in the 178Hf nucleus.
This report results from a contract tasking Romanian Center for Induced Gamma Emission as follows: The contractor will (a) travel to Orsay, France to participate in the data collection; (b) reduce some of the data at RC- IGE in Bucharest; (c) review the data and decide analytical strategies; and (d) review results and develop a sequent publications summarizing the results.
