Mechanism of r.f. Plasma Nitriding of Ti-6Al-4V Alloy. 1993
Authors:  A. Raveh; ISRAEL ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION BEERSHEBA NUCLEAR RESEARCH CENTER-NEGEVE
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only. The objective of the current study was the gradual development of the formation of the nitride layer during inductive r.f. plasma nitriding. The study centers on characterization of refined layers and plasma diagnostics in the vicinity of the sample, and raises critical questions of how the layers and interfacial microstructure might affect the near-surface properties. The composition of the plasma near the surface of the sample (plasma layer) was examined ...

Fatigue Failure of Ferritic Nodular Cast Iron in Heavy-Section Castings. 1991
Authors:  Marius Mark-Markowitch; Florian Schubert; Ramy Arkush; Hubertus Nickel; Ernst P. Warnke; ISRAEL ATOMIC ENERGY COMMISSION BEERSHEBA NUCLEAR RESEARCH CENTER-NEGEVE
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.High cycle fatigue tests were conducted on nodular cast iron GGG40. Results indicate that fatigue strength increased with small graphite nodule-spacings and high local ductility. The decohesion of graphite nodules from the surrounding matrix promotes crack initiation.
