High Power 7-GHz Bandwidth External-Cavity Diode Laser Array and Its Use in Optically Pumping Singlet Delta Oxygen 11 Oct 2006 7 pages
Authors:  Lei Meng; Boris Nizamov; Pratheepan Madasamy; Jason Brasseur; Tom Henshaw; David K Neumann; DIRECTED ENERGY SOLUTIONS COLORADO SPRINGS CO
The full text of this report is available for sale.Using a 14-mm thick volume Bragg grating, spectral bandwidth of a diode laser array is narrowed to 7 GHz (FWHM). The total output power is 13.5 W, of which 86% is in the 7-GHz band. With such a narrow bandwidth, it is possible to temperature tune laser frequency across O(2) X(3) Pi - b(1) Sigma(+) absorption line at 763.8 nm, efficiency generating O(2)((1)Delta) molecules.

Historical Perspective of COIL 17 JUL 2002 12 pages
Authors:  William E. McDermott; DIRECTED ENERGY SOLUTIONS COLORADO SPRINGS CO
The full text of this report is available for sale. The oxygen-iodine laser was the first electronic transition chemical laser. It first lased 25 years ago at the Air Force Weapons Laboratory (now the Air Force Research Laboratory). The development started several years earlier and involved the support of many people in the laser community.

Cost Effective, Scalable Optically Pumped Molecular Laser FEB 2001 31 pages
Authors:  Jeff Nicholson; David Neumann; Wolfgang Rudolph; DIRECTED ENERGY SOLUTIONS COLORADO SPRINGS CO
The full text of this report is available for sale.An optically pumped, For laser was demonstrated operating at 4.0 micrometers. This is the first demonstration of an HBr laser by direct optical pumping of the 0 right arrow 3 vibrational overtone band at 1.34 micrometers. An injection locked, temperature tuned Nd: YAG laser was used as the optical pump source. Lasing was achieved in a cell of HRr maintained at 100 Torr. potential for scaling to higher pulse energies ...
