Fixation of Nitrogen with Aqueous Atomic Nitrogen. 28 FEB 1977
Authors:  Norman N. Lichtin; BOSTON UNIV MASS
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.Planned research involved fixation of nitrogen in organic compounds in reactions of potential synthetic utility in which active nitrogen, mostly N(4S), acted on organic solutes dissolved in water or other unreactive polar solvents. A previously reported conversion of aqueous ethanol to acetamide could not be repeated. HCN(10-30 mole percent) and NH3(0-4 mole percent) were the only identified nitrogenous products of the reaction with aqueous or neat liquid methanol or ethanol. ...

Determining Wave Functions from g Factors. OCT 1975
Authors:  Nick Karayianis; HARRY DIAMOND LABS ADELPHI MD
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.EPR measurements that determine g factors for Kramers doublet states are usually reported in the literature, together with wave functions deduced from the data. Since most experiments just determine magnitudes for the g factors, they are often erroneously assumed to be positive and all wave functions consistent with the data are not obtained. This deficiency has led to incorrect or unwarranted conclusions in several instances. Formulas are given in this ...

Composting of Nitrocellulose Fines - Technical and Logistical Feasibility APR 1975 37 pages

Reactions of Heavy Metals with Soils with Special Regard to their Application in Sewage Wastes. NOV 1972
Authors:  Geoffrey Winthrop Leeper; MELBOURNE UNIV PARKVILLE (AUSTRALIA)
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.High figures quoted for heavy metals in plants shows that the unwanted accumulation of a foreign metal might be harvested by growing a specialist crop, e.g., harvesting nitrogen. This report does not conclude such findings. Materials containing foreign metals added to the soil induce a permanent change (in the soil). Periodic addition of these metals remain harmlessly in the soil for many years, however a point in time is reached ...
