in-service acoustic emission monitoring of a steam-methane reformer furnace JAN 76
Authors:  D. R. Hay; M. N. Bassim; d. dunbar
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.the technique for acoustic emission was applied to monitoring the start-up and steady state operation of a component in a steam-methane reformer furnace. this particular structure is characterized by the presence of high- level extraneous noise and high skin temperature. four independent transducers were mounted on waveguides which were welded to reference pins on the structure. analysis of the emitted signals involved determination of the event rate and total counts ...

ELECTRON SPIN RESONANCE (ESR) STUDY OF GAMMA IRRADIATED SOLID ACETONITRILE. SEP 1963
Authors:  L. A. Harrah; R. E. Rondeau; S. Zakanycz; D. Hale; d. dunbar; RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY DIV BOLLING AFB D C
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only. The solid phase Cobalt-60 radiolysis of acetonitrile was investigated. Free radicals produced during the exposure to gamma rays were studied with an electron-spin resonance spectrometer and the final products were determined by gas chromatography and mass spectrometry. Predominant products are hydrogen, methane, and succinonitrile. The reaction paths to these products are inferred from, and consistent with, the ESR spectra of the trapped free radicals. (uthor)
