This report describes the in-stream water quality module within the Nutrient Sub-Model (NSM), Version 1.2. The in-stream water quality module includes the major processes for nitrogen, phosphorus, carbon, and oxygen cycling in a stream. Kinetic process equations are presented for each state variable for water quality modeling in streams.
