The objective of this program is to evaluate the dependence of pseudomorphic InxGa1-xAs quality on epitaxial growth conditions and InxGa1-xAs composition. All of the structures were fabricated by molecular beam epitaxy (MBE). The effects of different growth conditions were evaluated with a combination of characterization techniques, including Hall effect, Shubnikov-de Hass, photoreflectance, microwave reflectance, photoluminescence, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and in-situ reflection high energy electron diffraction (RHEED). Critical layer thickness ...

In the present study we attempt to identify and assess key variables in Japanese 'political culture' which explain continuity and change, i.e., those variables which are most specifically Japanese. The family and workplace are vital units of value foundation and reinforcement with the latter assuming an increasing role in light of Japan's postwar economic achievements. Japan has taken two key steps to insure continuing economic viability: (1) it will work ...

The general principles of the formation of absorption spectra due to rotation, vibration and electrons are briefly discussed. The energy relations in electron absorption and vibrational absorptions are defined. The schemes of measurements and their application to structure determination are outlined and their application in research in medicine are emphasized. (Author)
