SDSS Spectroscopic Survey of Stars 2006 9 pages
Authors:  Z. Ivezic; D. Schlegel; A. Uomoto; N. Bond; T. Beers; C. A. Prieto; R. Wilhelm; Y. S. Lee; T. Sivarani; M. Juric; R. Lupton; NAVAL OBSERVATORY WASHINGTON DC
The full text of this report is available for sale.In addition to optical photometry of unprecedented quality, the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) is also producing a massive spectroscopic database. We discuss determination of stellar parameters, such as effective temperature, gravity and metallicity from SDSS spectra, describe correlations between kinematics and metallicity, and study their variation as a function of the position in the Galaxy. We show that stellar parameter estimates by Beers et al. show a good correlation ...

Analysis of Forming Forces in Stamping Press Operations. 1994
Authors:  R. Wilhelm
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only. This article covers some of the basics for using strip chart recordings to analyze metal stamping operations to discover press, tooling, and product problems. Many things that happen in a press directly or indirectly affect the strain levels in the press frame and tooling. By measuring these strain levels and displaying them as a waveshape on a strip chart, some press information may be gathered. (Copyright of the The Croydon ...

Using Real-Time Feedback on Stop Blocks. 1993
Authors:  R. Wilhelm
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.To implement statistical process control (SPC), all the variables associated with stamping operations - such as the die, material, lubrication, and press - must first be identified and then ultimately brought under control.
