A Time Domain Integral Equation Approach to Electromagnetic Interference Simulation 29 JUN 2007 8 pages
Authors:  Daniel S. Weile; DELAWARE UNIV NEWARK
The full text of this report is available for sale. The goal of this project, which tasted from June 1, 2004 to May 31, 2007 was to develop new analysis methods for the modeling of broadband electromagnetic radiation in the time-domain useful for solving electromagnetic interference (EMI) problems. The work was based on a new approach for solving time-domain integral cquations (TDIEs) with stability and accuracy, but was soon extended to some other approaches. The results produced by the research ...

Genetic Algorithm Optimization of Phononic Bandgap Structures SEP 2006 28 pages
Authors:  George A. Gazonas; Daniel S. Weile; Raymond Wildman; Anuraag Mohan; ARMY RESEARCH LAB ABERDEEN PROVING GROUND MD WEAPONS AND MATERIALS RESEARCH DIRECTORATE
The full text of this report is available for sale. This report describes the use of genetic algorithms (GAs) for the optimal design of phononic bandgaps in periodic elastic two phase media. In particular, we link a GA with a computational finite element method for solving the acoustic wave equation, and find optimal designs for both metal-matrix composite systems consisting of Ti/SiC, and H2O-filled porous ceramic media, by maximizing the relative acoustic bandgap for these media. The term acoustic here ...
