A master-oscillator power-amplifier with stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) beam cleanup or wavefront reversal typically incorporates a Faraday isolator to outcouple the Stokes light, limiting the power scalability. Volume Bragg gratings (VBGs) have the potential for scaling to higher powers.
