The effects of waveguide dispersion on the radiation pattern and directivity of series-fed, linear arrays are investigated, and an expression for the directive gain of such arrays is derived. The directivity and radiation patterns for typical arrays are presented for various values of signal bandwidths and waveguide cutoff frequencies. It is shown that the detrimental effects of dispersion on both directivity and beamwidth are substantial when the signal bandwidth is ...
The class of functions F(s) which are analytic in the right half-plane a5d which are real for s real is considered. A theorem is derived with places bounds on the integrals of the real and imaginary parts of F(i omega) in terms of the difference between the maximum and the minimum values of these quantities in the interval less than or equal to omega less than infinity.
