The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.A survey conducted by the U.S. Army Research Institute (ARI) in Fiscal Year 1979 identified the number and types of aviation warrant officers (AWOs) who were leaving the Army and the factors that influenced the AWOs' decisions to leave. A Human Performance/Workload Evaluation of the AN/PVS-5 Bifocal Night Vision Goggle. JUL 1979 98 pages
Authors:  L. W. Stone; M. G. Sanders; D. D. Glick; R. Wiley; K. A. Kimball; ARMY AEROMEDICAL RESEARCH LAB FORT RUCKER AL
The full text of this report is available for sale.Eight experienced US Army aviators performed various maneuvers in an instrumented helicopter to test the relative usability of two bifocally configured night vision goggles. Both configurations were statistically better than the unmodified arrangement when looking at a pilot's ability to hold a precise altitude at night. The subjective data, supported by flight performance observed betweeen the two bifocals, further suggested that a 24% bifocal version was more desirable than a ...

Anticholenergic Influences upon Habituation to Electrical Brain Stimulation, 1972
Authors:  M. G. Sanders; A. Tal; R. H. Carlson; TEXAS TECH UNIV LUBBOCK CENTER OF BIOTECHNOLOGY AND HUMAN PERFORMANCE
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.Habituation has been defined as a response decrement produced by repeated or continuous stimulation (Harris 1943). Cain and Carlson (1971) have demonstrated that a response induced by electrical brain stimulation (EBS) can habituate. Carlton (1963) suggested that the physiological basis of habituation was accumulation of acetylcholine at central cholenergic synapses and that the effects of this accumulation could be blocked by anticholenergic drugs such as scopolamine. The present experiment was ...
