Thunderstorm lightning to aircraft reports from over 700 incidents are tabulated and, although the data on jets is not yet complete, show the greatest incidence of strikes to occur near 0 C and around 10,000 ft altitudes with some lightning incidents at 40,000 ft. Point-of-strike frequencies are also tabulated.
