Biomolecules labeled with luminescent colloidal semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) have potential for use in numerous applications, including fluoro-immunoassays and biological imaging. QD labels exhibit size-tunable narrow-band luminescent emission and high resistance to photodegradation.
