General Slender Cone Simulation at Reentry Flow Conditions. JUN 1977
Authors:  Joseph A. Johnson III; ARNOLD ENGINEERING DEVELOPMENT CENTER ARNOLD AIR FORCE STATION TENN
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.By using the results of general similarity, the problem of modeling the hypersonic flow about a reentry cone is reviewed. The techniques developed are applied to a specific proposed ballistic range experiment. (Author)

EXPERIMENTS WITH A SUPERSONIC TUBE WIND-TUNNEL. MAR 1970
Authors:  Joseph A. Johnson III; Dominic Cagliostro; YALE UNIV NEW HAVEN CONN DEPT OF ENGINEERING AND APPLIED SCIENCE
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.An experimental study was performed of the unsteady processes in the starting period of a supersonic Ludwieg tube, a device which operates like an intermittent supersonic wind tunnel. A quick opening diaphragm located downstream of the nozzle initiates the flow. Pressure and density measurements are made in a variety of ways in Mach number 1.67 and 3.0 nozzles. For the starting conditions treated, supersonic flow is established in the nozzle ...
