The bulkhead bolt of aircraft is a critical part withstanding high tensile stresses during flight. Understanding features of its fatigue crack initiation and growth is of great significance in fatigue test. Authors of present paper have employed acoustic emission (AE) to monitor fatigue cracks of the bolt during full-size fatigue test of an aircraft.
