Effect of Oxygen on Microstructure and Properties of Ti-6Al-2Cb-1Ta-1Mo Alloy, 1985
Authors:  M. A. Iman; B. B. Rath; D. J. Gillespie; NAVAL RESEARCH LAB WASHINGTON DC
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only. The role of oxygen ranging from 0.075 to 0.290 wt.% on the microstructure and properties of Ti-6Al-2Cb-1Ta-1Mo has been investigated. Metallographic examinations show a systematic refinement of prior beta grains and an increase of the aspect ratio of alpha-laths with increasing oxygen content. Quantitative evaluations of the oxygen effects on the beta-transus temperature, microhardness, modulus, strength, ductility and crystallographic texture have been performed. Low temperature resistivity measurements indicate that for ...

Corrosion and Corrosion-Fatigue Behavior of Ti-4.5Al-5Mo-1.5Cr (CORONA 5) and Ti-6Al-4V 80
Authors:  M. A. Iman; A. C. Fraker; K. M. Speck; C. M. Gilmore; GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIV WASHINGTON D C SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING AND APPLIED SCIENCE
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.It can be concluded from this study that at lower strain levels, the Corona 5 alloy has a longer corrosion-fatigue life than the mill annealed Ti- 6Al-4V while the opposite is true for higher strains. The potential becomes more electronegative at the onset of the applied cyclic strain and this electrode potential drop increases with strain. After this initial drop, the open circuit electrode potential of the given alloy reaches ...
