Analysis of the Lithium Sulfur Dioxide System at Ultra-High Rate Discharges. FEB 1981
Authors:  R. W. Holmes; A. N. Dey; DURACELL INTERNATIONAL INC BURLINGTON MA LAB FOR PHYSICAL SCIENCE
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only. The major objective of this program was to study the effects of electrolytes in Li/SO2 cells, for use in high rate abusive discharge conditions. Five electrolytes were investigated based on previous differential thermal analysis (DTA) results. A standard type electrolyte using acetonitrile (AN) was included in the program for comparison. The work was performed at Duracell International Inc. using LO26SX cells made at the Lithium Systems Division in North Tarrytown, ...

Analysis of Pressure Producing Reactions in Lithium-Sulfur Dioxide Cells. NOV 1979
Authors:  A. N. Dey ; R. W. Holmes; MALLORY (P R) AND CO INC BURLINGTON MASS LAB FOR PHYSICAL SCIENCE
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.Although the State-of-the-Art hermetically sealed high-rate D cells made by P. R. Mallory & Co. Inc. are sufficiently abuse resistant for many applications, this program was initiated to explore the feasibility of improving the intrinsic abuse resistance of the system even further by chemical and/or mechanical means, so that the product may be rendered Safe under all user conditions. The approach that was pursued involved: (a) the identification of the ...
