Exposure to organophosphate (OP) chemical warfare agents (CWAs), pesticides, anesthetics, drugs such as cocaine, and a variety of therapeutic drugs including donepezil or rivastigmine for Alzheimer's disease reduces red blood cell acetylcholinesterase (RBC-AChE) or serum butyrylcholinesterase (BChE) activity.
