Methods for fabricating adaptive composite materials and components using shape memory alloy (SMA) constituents were investigated using a variety of fabrication techniques, including mechanical rolling methods. Both SMA-polymer and SMA-metal composites were created, as well as new fabrication strategies for producing NiTi and CuAlNi shape memory alloy particles with refined size which still display shape memory and pseudoelasticity.
