This document was developed under a SBIR contract. In this paper, a novel integrated flight control and flow control system using synthetic jet arrays is presented. In the proposed system, a novel active flow control actuator, synthetic-jets-instrumented-wingtips were designed to enhance or replace traditional roll control of a specified airplane.
