Chemical Characterization of Dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) Munitions Recrystallization Process Samples OCT 1984
Authors:  E. P. Burrows; E. E. Brueggemann; ARMY MEDICAL BIOENGINEERING RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT LAB FORT DETRICK MD
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.As part of a program to assess possible adverse health effects of workers in a new nitramine munitions recrystallization process utilizing dimethyl-sulfoxide, pilot plant samples were analyzed qualitatively for trace organics by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry and quantitively for nitramines by high pressure liquid chromatography. None of the variety of trace organics found was related to munitions manufacture or to breakdown of nitramines, and, except for the presence of diacetone alcohol, ...

Nitroguanidine Wastewater Pollution Control Technology: Phase II wastewater Characterization and Analytical Methods Development for Organics MAR 1984 24 pages
Authors:  E. P. Burrows; E. E. Brueggemann; S. H. Hoke; E. H. McNamee; L. J. Baxter; ARMY MEDICAL BIOENGINEERING RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT LAB FORT DETRICK MD
The full text of this report is available for sale.Optimal methodology for analysis of the possible organic constituents of nitroguanidine production wastewater is reported. Nitroguanidine, nitrosoguanidine, cyanoguanidine, melamine, and ammeline are determined by high pressure liquid chromatography, guanidine by ion chromatography, and cyanamide and urea by spectrophotometric methods.
