Reactions of Borazines with Pyrazole and Some Related Studies AUG 86
Authors:  J. Bielawski; M. K. Das; E. Hanecker; K. Niedenzu; H. Noeth; KENTUCKY UNIV LEXINGTON DEPT OF CHEMISTRY
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only. The reaction of borazines, (-BR-NR'-)3, with pyrazole, Hpz, gives mu- pyrazolato-mu-amido diboron species of the type R-(pz)B(mu-pz)mu-NHR')BR(pz) containing a central B2N3 ring system; four compounds of this type with R = C2H5 or C6H5 and R' = H or CH3, respectively, were prepared. Identical species can be obtained on interaction of bis(dimethylaminoboryl)amines of the tyep R'N(BR- N(CH3)2)2 with Hpz; they are closely related to the pyraxabloes, R2B(mu-pz)2BR2, which contain a ...

Reactions of Boroxines and Diboroxanes with Pyrazole JAN 86
Authors:  J. Bielawski; K. Niedenzu; KENTUCKY UNIV LEXINGTON DEPT OF CHEMISTRY
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.Tetraorganyldiboryl oxides = 1,3-diboroxanes, (R2B)2O (R = C2H5, C6H5), react at elevated temperatures with excess pyrazole, Hpz, to give an essentially quantitative yield of the corresponding pyrazabole, R2B(mu-pz)2BR2. The 1,3-diboroxane (CH3)2N-BR2O (R = C6H5) reacts with Hpz in refluxing toluene to form the triply-bridged pyrazabole RBB(mu-pz)2(mu-O-BR-O)BR as the major product besides substantial quantities of the diboroxane derivative (pz)rb(mu- pz)2BR20. In the latter, two pyrazabole moieties are linked by an oxygen ...

Polynuclear Pyrazolyl-Bridged Spiro Species Containing Boron and Metal Centers OCT 85
Authors:  J. Bielawski; T. G. Hodgkins; W. J. Layton; K. Niedenzu; P. M. Niedenzu; KENTUCKY UNIV LEXINGTON DEPT OF CHEMISTRY
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.A series of chain-type polynuclear pyrazolyl-bridged spiro species containing boron and metal centers has been prepared. Reaction of the tetrakis(1-pyrazolyl)borate ion, B(pz)4(-) (Hpz = pyrazole), with one molar equivalent of a metal halide species LMX (L = nonreactive ligands(s); M = metal, e.g., Pd; X = halogen) yielded covalent compounds of the type (pz)2B(mu-pz)2ML; and with two molar equivalents of LMX, trinuclear cationic species of the type LM(mu-pz)2B(mu-pz)2ML(+) were obtained. ...

Triply-Bridged Diboron Species of the Pyrazabole Type JUL 85
Authors:  J. Bielawski; K. Niedenzu; KENTUCKY UNIV LEXINGTON DEPT OF CHEMISTRY
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.B-Triorganylboroxines, (-BR-O03, react with pyrazole, Hpz, to yileld pyrazaboles in which the two boron atoms are further bridged by an O-BR-O link, i.e., RB(mu-pz)2(mu-OBRO)BR. The neutral species are structurally related to dibora cations of the type RB(mu-pz)3BR(+). The preparation of the latter by reaction of either tri(1-pyrazolyl)borate(1-) ions, RB(pz)3(-), or the pz(-) ion with trigonal boranes containing two ready leaving groups, R'BX2, has been studied and the first unsymmetrical species ...
