Synthesis, Morphological and Electrical Characterization of Solution Processable Low Bandgap Organic Materials 05-Dec-2008 18 pages
Authors:  Zhenan Bao; STANFORD UNIV CA DEPT OF CHEMICAL ENGINEERING
The full text of this report is available for sale. The objectives of this research was to develop the chemistry for the synthesis of a new class of pentacene and tetracene containing polymers and oligomers. These materials were designed to have low bandgap and high charge carrier mobility. The general synthetic routes were developed for this class of materials. The synthesized new molecules and polymers were used for structural property relation studies to understand the effect of molecular structure on ...

X-Ray Irradiation Effects in Top Contact, Pentacene Based Field Effect Transistors for Space Related Applications 2006 4 pages
Authors:  R. A. Devine; Mang-Mang Ling; Abhijit B. Mallik; Mark Roberts; Zhenan Bao; AIR FORCE RESEARCH LAB KIRTLAND AFB NM SPACE VEHICLES DIRECTORATE
The full text of this report is available for sale.Preliminary studies of the effect of x-ray irradiation, typically used to simulate radiation effects in space, on top contract, pentacene based field effect transistors have been carried out. Threshold voltage shifts in irradiated devices are consistent with positive charge trapping in the gate dielectric and a rebound effect is observed, independent of the sign of applied electric field during irradiation. Carrier mobility variations in positive electric field biased/irradiated devices are ...

Thermally Curable Second-Order Nonlinear-Optical Polymer. 1992
Authors:  Luping Yu; Waikin Chan; Srivatsan Dikshit; Zhenan Bao; Yongqiang Shi; CHICAGO UNIV IL DEPT OF CHEMISTRY
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.A thermally cross-linkable, second-order nonlinear optical (NLO) polymer containing ethynyl groups has been synthesized. The ethynyl groups in the polymer backbone can undergo thermal intramolecular or intermolecular reactions with amide groups to form heterocyclic structures or cross linkages. The thermal curing of the polymer can be simultaneously effected during electric poling and second-harmonic generation measurements indicated that the cured polymers indeed showed high stability in dipole orientation; no obvious decay ...
