On Elastic Wave Propagation in Truncated Conical Shells. DEC 1968
Authors:  B. Albrecht; R. C. Dove; P. N. Sonnenburg; NEW MEXICO UNIV ALBUQUERQUE DEPT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only. The properties of elastic wave propagation in thin truncated conical shells were studied. Theoretical results were compared with experimental data obtained by impacting a truncated shell with a steel ball. The method of solving the equations yielded continuous waveforms which could be compared directly with strain gage data. The general simultaneous equations for the conical shell were obtained and reduced to a single equation with longitudinal displacement as the unknown. ...

ELECTRONICALLY TUNABLE PARAMETRIC AMPLIFIER. FEB 1967
Authors:  D. Neuf; B. Albrecht; CONTROL DATA CORP MELVILLE NY TRG DIV
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only.A tunable (34 to 38 GHz) receiver has been developed which utilized a cooled, two-port parametric down converter as the front end. The receiver is tuned simply by varying the pump frequency of the parametric down converter. In this manner, input signals in the 35 GHz band are selectively down converted to a fixed output frequency of 12.6 GHz, thereby eliminating the need for a tracking post receiver. The parametric ...

VISCOELASTIC BEHAVIOR OF A FILLED ELASTOMER IN REVERSED TORSION. MAY 1965
Authors:  B. Albrecht; A. M. Freudenthal; COLUMBIA UNIV NEW YORK
The full text of this report is not available and therefore is not for sale. This information is provided for reference purposes only. The mechanical behavior of polyurethane rubber filled with granular potassium chloride was investigated by subjecting tubular specimens to oscillatory torsion. The response of the material was studied to variation of frequency and amplitude of the imposed strain as well as to variation of the temperature. Beside the measurement of the storage and loss moduli, the normal forces are observed and the second order moduli, the cross-elasticity and the crossviscosity moduli ...
