Abstract:
This report details the early history of flight, from the invention of ballooning to the Wright B Flyer and beyond. It chronicles the progression of the United Sates Air Corps and its significance before, during, and after World War I. Most importantly, the book focuses on the formation of McCook Field in Dayton, Ohio and the critical role it played in the advancement of aeronautics in the United States.
