Abstract:
The addition of alloys and microstructural control have improved the ambient-temperature ductility and fracture toughness of TiAl-base intermetallic alloys. This overview presents recent advances in the understanding of the fracture-toughness mechanism in Ti-Al alloys and the effect of microstructures on the mechanical properties.
