Relaxation Techniques

Authors: R. Marconi-Dooley; AIR COMMAND AND STAFF COLL MAXWELL AFB AL
Abstract:
The project consists of two parts, the written text and the videotape. The text describes how the project idea was formulated, the sources of data used, and how the videotape script was developed. The script describes the concept of relaxation techniques, and the techniques of deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, and visualization. Then through a short demonstration, the viewer has the opportunity to experience each of these three techniques. The videotape is used in the Air War College (AWC) noontime film series in conjunction with the AWC Executive Health Assessment and Fitness block of instruction. The videotape can, however, be used to introduce relaxation techniques to any adult. (Author)
