An Eddy Viscosity Model for Hypermixing Jets and Wakes.

Authors: Paul M. Bevilaqua; AEROSPACE RESEARCH LABS WRIGHT-PATTERSON AFB OHIO
Abstract:
The effect of discrete vortices on the structure of turbulent free shear flows is considered. It is found that by relating the mixing length and velocity of an eddy viscosity to the vortex size and rotational speed, an analytic description of the hypermixing phenomenon is obtained. This new model is successfully applied to the two dimensional turbulent wake. (Author)
