Abstract:
At strains below 40% alpha-titanium deforms by a combination of slip and twinning. Twinning mainly occurs on (1012) twinning systems. The rate of twinning is a function of orientation and decreases with increasing deformation. At strains above 40% alpha-titanium deforms by slip alone.
