Preliminary Studies on Pulsed Electric Field Breakdown of Lead Azide.

Authors: L. Avrami; M. Blais; D. Downs; T. Gora; PICATINNY ARSENAL DOVER N J
Abstract:
Preliminary results from a study of the electric field induced breakdown of lead azide are reported. Specifically, the effects of contacts on the initiation of explosives by electric fields, and present preliminary measurements of the transient current in lead azide during the application of a pulsed voltage pulse are discussed. A circuit which eliminates the capacitive transient due to the voltage pulse is described. (Author)
