THE FREQUENCY SPECTRUM OF SMALL-SCALE TEMPERATURE PULSATIONS.

Authors: A. S. Gurvich; T. K. Kravchenko; AMERICAN METEOROLOGICAL SOCIETY BOSTON MASS
Abstract:
Experimental study of the high-frequency region of the spectrum of temperature and wind-speed pulsations is of interest for turbulence theory and for a number of practical problems associated, e. g., with the scattering of short sonic and ultrasonic waves in atmospheric turbulence. The present paper contains a brief description of the means of preparing miniature, quick-response temperature-pulsation sensors and some results of measurements of the high-frequency region of the temperature-pulsation frequency spectrum in the atmospheric surface boundary layer.
