Abstract:
The software described in this user's manual is intended for screening of hydrologic data. The software can function "on-line" for screening of real-time data, or it can be used to screen historical data. The software is intended for use on UNIX-based workstations and requires use of the Hydrologic Engineering Center Data Storage System (HEC-DSS). Computer program DATCHK performs screening tests with user-specified criteria and classifies each data value as missing, erroneous, questionable or o.k.. Six types of test are available: absolute magnitude, duration magnitude, rate-of- change, constant value, relative magnitude and distribution. Replacement values for flagged data can be generated automatically. Computer program DATVUE is an interactive program that produces graphical and tabular data displays and provides the capability to rapidly edit data previously screen by DATCHK. This User's Manual describes capabilities of DATCHK and DATVUE, and specifies input requirements. Examples of program usage are also provided.
