Gulf Region District Is Adjusting Its Aegis Security Contract Requirements for Changes in Reconstruction Activities in Iraq

Authors: Glenn D. Furbish; Michael A. Bianco; Robert L. Pelletier; Nadia Shamari; SPECIAL INSPECTOR GENERAL FOR IRAQ RECONSTRUCTION ARLINGTON VA
Abstract:
Since May 2004, DoD has had a series of contracts with Aegis for private security services. Aegis is currently working on two contracts and has completed its work on eight contracts. The contracts can be categorized into four broad service categories: reconstruction security support services, support-to-contractor operations cells, personal security details for U.S. senior military officers, and transportation and security escort services. Although this report provides basic information on the 10 contracts, it focuses primarily on contract W912ER-11-C-0008, which is the latest reconstruction security support services contract to provide for a broad range of security services for USACE's reconstruction activities.
